I was using my MX950 tonight for about an hour without looking at the screen and then had a reason to glance at it and I noticed that the screen was all messed up. What could cause this? Can it be fixed? If it has to go back to URC, any idea how much it would cost and how long it would take? All the buttons work, including the ones on the LCD screen. btw, it's out of warranty.

Thanks,
Dan

Have you tried resetting the remote by any chance?

Well, I think I have. I've pulled the battery a number of times and while the battery was in, I pushed the little button beneath the battery and the remote re-booted. Everytime the remote would reboot, but came back the same problem. I've also tried loading the software again and that didn't seem to help. Most of the time the screen looks worse than the pictures I've posted, with none of the text readable.

Does anyone have any idea how much URC charges to replace the LCD? Thanks for your help.

Cant be more than a year old, can it?

Try dumping a fresh program in it and see what happens, if that doesnt work-----toast.

Thanks Lowpro and Carl, I'll try a new program when I get home. I know the remote is over a year old, I got one of the first ones when they came out. I haven't looked at the receipt, but I know it was sometime in late 2005 when I received it.

I'm also going to call URC today and see what they charge to replace an LCD screen, that's if they even do it. I'm not too hopeful though. I'm just really puzzled by how it happened, really strange.

Thanks again for your input and ideas, if anyone else has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

You can reset the remote to the factory image by holding down Listen and Enter, then choose factory.
That should clear everything including the preferences and reset the PRAM to 0.

Thanks jberger, I'll try that tonight. I called URC and got an RMA figuring I'd have to use it and have them replace the LCD, it would be great if this fixes the remote, I hate to be without it for 2 weeks.

Thanks,
Dan
