I started by programming the 980 without the base station and had everything working fine through IR. Then decided to add the base station and the RF. I started from scratch so I could learn it thoroughly. All the standard IR remote commands now go through the MSC via RF and everything works fine. I added in my RS232 equipment and can't figure out how to turn on "ALL EQUIPMENT" from the remote.
I'm a little confused on what actually triggers the macro from the remote.
I have programmed the MSC macro to turn on the theater equipment. This works fine when testing through USB, but I don't quite grasp how to make a button on the remote trigger the macro.
I am not a CI, but I program industrial equipment all the time and I think that's what has me crippled. The process is very similar, but there is one little detail I'm missing and it's got me frozen! Ha ha.

Thanks for your help!

Are you programming in their CCP platform, or standalone editors?

while in the mx980 programming, you need to go to the hot functions tab, select the msc400, find the macro in the list, then drag it over to a button on the mx980.

you also need to make sure that any device page group that has msc400 triggers on it has the RF setup to point to the msc400.

Is this in CCP? I should have mentioned that's what I am using. I haven't found that tab.
It's what I started with.

under the view tab up along the top of the screen.

make sure the Hot Functions option has a check in the box.  then you can find it as an option within the properties/images/sound/etc selection window.

Not the best laid out software. I got it now, I think. Thanks for your help.

you can rearrange things as you see fit.  if you have a large enough monitor you can really start to tweak what goes where.

I don't mean specifically where everything is, but the way it works and the flow. I use a fair amount of different programming packages as well as several different modeling and CAD packages and this is one of the most confusing.
Of course any program is fine when you learn it.

Thanks again for the coaching!
