Well, I work for URC, so of course I can't recommend that you go aftermarket with your batteries. All things being equal, all things are not equal.

However, someone else may step up with a differing point of view.

Best regards,
Dale

Oh, I have an MX-950. I just posted in this thread because the two remotes appear to use the same battery. Didn't realize the MX-880 didn't have a cradle. The battery in mine doesn't hold a charge more than a few hours, and I need to replace it. Just wondering if I can use an aftermarket li-ion battery (like the NP-60) with the 950 cradle.

I recommend the Ultralast UL-NP60 mentioned in a previous post. They have a 2-year warranty as mentioned and are 1200 mAh, $16 shipped on Buy.com. They can be used with the MX-950, 810, 880 and 980. I've been using one with an old MX-950 for alomst a year now.

I just bought two UltraLast batteries. Neither of them held a charge more than 3 days. Thinking of trying the Fuji. Can anyone confirm if they last as long as the URC batteries when new?

Three days is pretty good. I have a Lenmar 11mAh I bought last year as a replacement for the 980 and it has to be charged every 36 hrs or so, even without heavy use.

3-4 days sounds about right for these batteries. The ones that I carry in stock are 1050mAh like the originals and customers tell me that they last about 4 days between charges. If you do decide to use NP60 camera batteries be sure that it is intended for Fuji cameras and not Casio as Casio also has a battery with this model number.

So that is 3 old threads that you posted in talking about batteries that you sell.  Maybe you should pay for advertising on this site instead.

I purchased a Cameron Sino 3.7V 1050 mAh Li-Ion Battery (CS-MX810RC) about a month ago for a used MX-880 I recently setup for someone. Has being doing well so far and for under $14 shipped it could die in 6 months for all I care. Not going to sweat another $14 bucks to replace the battery again, but hopefully I'll find it lasts much longer than that. Replaced the original battery which had swollen up like a grapefruit causing the battery cover to protrude. Now with the replacement battery installed the battery cover is all loose from having been stretched out. When the remotes in actual use you don't notice it that much though.

Cameron Sino is a decent aftermarket battery manufacturer. I am pretty sure that all of their batteries also come with a 1 year warranty.
