OK very nice, thank you.

This prevents using a series of page jumps to produce
an animation then, correct? Or will it accept an animated
.gif image?

Matt

No animation is possible. The jump page is a single PNG.

guys,
sorry for the stupid question, but will some of these icons work with the MX-980? If so, how do I extract them to work with it? there are some great ones here that I haven't found for the 980!

thanks in advance...

None of the full page sets (with continuous backgrounds) will work because the screen size and number of buttons are different. But any of the free-floating icons will work.

Download the images you want by right-clicking and saving them. In the MX-980 Editor, find the page you want to add the icon, click on the button you want, and right-click to "Add LCD Button" (or push Insert). Select the gray box you just added and find "Image" section in the right-side panel. On Normal, click the arrow pointing down to import. Find the image you saved and open it.

I'd like to bump this thread.

I'm trying to move the graphics in-house and this thread should be required reading to show what is possible with the MX-810 and MX-880.

I know the MX-980 is the Belle-of-the-Ball lately ... but HEY -

Let's not forget the little remote(s) that could!

Put it this way - if it wasn't for this thread, I would never have purchased an MX-810, an MRF-350 and an MRF-260 - nor would I have recommended them to all my friends. Plus, my buddies wouldn't have been half as impressed if it weren't for the cool graphics and customization options (difficult as they are to learn at first!).

Maybe I missed something but does this mean if I want icons I will have to redo my whole setup, by renaming everything from favorites.

Is there anyway to get the favorite icons into the activity pages i already created?

I'm no expert on the subject, but I believe the answer is that you will have to redo your activities to get the custom logos.

That is correct. The Wizard must recognize the activity as a favorite before you will have access to the portion of the program that allows you to add images.

Does anyone know or have any xbox buttons like jud has? Still have not heard back from him and could not recreate those buttons that look like that.

I also like his plain red and green I was hoping to use them for power off and on.

You could use a free tool like Paint .NET to slice up the big jpg he posted into separate button images of the right size, and then just save them as .png files before importing them into the wizard.

Im trying, my background is different im having trouble I can get a circle around it but it wont let me cut that. My background is different and not black so im trying to get it without the black background, I dont have anything like photoshop or im guessing this would be alot easier, or if i actually used paint before. I tried erasing the background but the eraser in paint is so big and its very uneven.

Are you using Paint (the crap tool that comes free with Windows) or Paint.NET (the good free tool that has to be downloaded separately)?

I'm a new MX-880 user and have been reading all I can to make the most of it. I've read this whole post, including dsp81's small addendum about the 880 in his original post. I'm still confused - can I create the nice 6-button sets for my "watch" pages like those for my Tivo and Cable Box as shown in the original post or can you only do those with an 810? The directions refer to the ProWizard and the "Activities" sections which don't apply to the 880. Appreciate any guidance on doing these great tricks for the 880.

(Would really be great if someone could create a post just like the first one with step-by-step directions for 880 owners.)

Thanks all,
-josh
