Im trying, my background is different im having trouble
I can get a circle around it but it wont let me cut that.
My background is different and not black so im trying
to get it without the black background, I dont have anything
like photoshop or im guessing this would be alot easier,
or if i actually used paint before. I tried erasing the
background but the eraser in paint is so big and its very
uneven.

I've added transparent XBox buttons to the first page. Right click and save.

I'm a new MX-880 user and have been reading all I can
to make the most of it. I've read this whole post, including
dsp81's small addendum about the 880 in his original post.
I'm still confused - can I create the nice 6-button sets
for my "watch" pages like those for my Tivo and Cable
Box as shown in the original post or can you only do those
with an 810? The directions refer to the ProWizard and
the "Activities" sections which don't apply to the 880.
Appreciate any guidance on doing these great tricks for
the 880.

(Would really be great if someone could create a post
just like the first one with step-by-step directions for
880 owners.)

Thanks all,
-josh

The file type and dimensional requirements are the same between the two remotes - 88x59 transparent PNG.

The files are located in the same place:
C:\Program Files\Universal Remote Control, Inc\MX-880 Editor\images\stationLogo

Simply place your images in one of the subfolders. I usually use the "Local" folder. To add your images, select Program > 3 Edit Buttons (also on the toolbar). Click on the button position and click the Select button in the lower right-hand corner. Locate the desired image and apply. Repeat as needed. Click save when you are done.

Expand Favs in the left-hand column. Click on Page 1. Click the button next to the image you want to program. Add the commands like you would with a normal macro. Rinse and repeat.

The addendum was just to point out that you can only add images to the Favs pages and no where else on the remote.

Cleaning out the letters is fairly complicated because there are gradients going in a bunch of directions. You might be able to pull them from the original files. Or you might be able to get the original author to provide you the letter-less buttons. They were created by this guy: [Link: 360prophecy.com]

Ok I made my first layout for the 360 and it looks good.

Im confused once I changed the name to xbox 360 in the browser.

I went and created another activity (I used the name sat favorites since it was the only one that would ask for station logos, it was automatically on the macro page to be added) so i created another sat favorites activity and nothing, it wont add it. I click add, then go to next and nothing.

I also tried just naming the activity favorites, but nothing again. I add it but it wont stick, after i hit next nothing happens, and nothings there. Its like the station logos are specific to my 360 file now, even though I changed the name to 360 in the browser.

I was following someones advice on another forum about adding more acitivties with customized logo's.

I also tried to add a cable box device, sure enough when i added cable box device, there was a thing on the activity page that said add cable favorites. I tried this as well, but again nothing, it wont add it, when i hit next, nothing happens.
Anyone know whats wrong.

I'm frustrated ... have a WYSIWYG issue related to the ProWizard Software. Darnitol if you can shed some light here I would be most grateful!

I am trying to create fully transparent icons for the "buttons". Although a good concept, I'm not one for a button graphic unless the button can be pushed (as in a touch-screen). Since the MX-810 is not a touch-screen, I see no need for the graphical representation of a "button" on the screen.

That being said I am trying to get all screens to disply icons/text only, with no button graphic behind it. I want icons/text and background only. I created fully transparent 88x59 icons with no image, replaced the default "ActiveStateButton" and the "Button" png files with the transparent images of same, named appropriately in the proper diectories for the theme. I am using a custom "Alpha" theme. I feel I am getting well versed in the file structure of ProWizard and can manipulate images as I see fit. On to the WYSIWYG problem.

With my new modified theme I open up ProWizard and select Alpha Theme. All looks PERFECT. All "button" graphics are gone and I have nothing but an icon and text for each allocated button slot. The background image is fully rendered behind each icon/text assigned to each hard button. Look at dsp81's screen-shot of "Page 1" DirecTV buttons below:

Notice how the icons on the left screen have no associated button image? THAT is what I am trying to achieve for ALL screens (Devices, Activites, and sub-functions of both). The REAL issue is that the ProWizard app displays everything properly - no "button" image at all. HOWEVER - when I download the file to the remote ALL buttons become full black for background. No wallpaper (background image) is visible at all. The background image is there, and can be seen on screens where I have no "buttons" assigned. Again, on the SAME screen, buttons that HAVE been assigned show a full black background. Text and Icons are fine. ProWizard shows all screens as fully transparent for "button" images.

Darnitol ... take me away!!

Seriously ... why would the ProWizard show everything as perfect yet that same file downloaded to the remote goes to all black?

Help!

PS - I can fully understand the need to represent channel logos as buttons - I just want to get rid of Devices, Activities, and sub-functions of same (direct IR functions) backgrond button graphics.

dsp, do you know if there's a limit to the number of pages of favourites one can have on the 880?

Thanks

Could I get copies of your custom icons and wzr files too? I just got a MX-810 and I am curious on how you guys are setting yours up with the custom icons and activities. I figure if I can look at your wzr files I should be able to come up with some ideas for my set up.

Thanks,
Topp
