Just wondering if you will be posting any kind of detailed
review of this product anytime soon? Even if its just
some informal one here in this thread?

The main thing I wish to know about is the reliability
factor. I have to use many macros because in my Theater
I have a 4:3 70inch Analog Mits and a 16:9 106" Hi-Def
Panasonic projector. So when I switch from one to another
I have to convert the DVD player from 4:3 to 16:9 and
the HD Tivo from 480i to 720p, plus raise a screen, etc
etc... So I am looking forward to true reliability. I
am also looking forward to using the RS232 to control
my 400 disc DVD changer, Projector, and receiver.

Any comment you have on these issues would be highly appreciated.

Jerry

I won't be writing a review but I am happy to report that the IR was dead on. The 9600 remote is much better at handling IR than the NG series. Lowpro had to add delays between items to control his X10 IR equipment because the remote was sending codes extremely quickly. This is a GOOD thing as the NG remotes were slower and you sometimes had to add "duration" to a code. This was required on the NG because button keypresses were buffered into a queue and then transmitted. The 9600 apparently does not buffer button presses as it reverts back to the old Classic Pronto way where when you press a button, the pressed images stays until the Action List is completed.

I had ZERO problems with IR on the 9600 and was able to remove all "duration" settings on my Sony Codes. The few folks that did have IR problems were mainly because the codes were incorrect in the Factory Database.
