I have just experienced what I think is the same problem with a Sony Receiver that I recently added to my sytem. Try it with the remote held very close to the MRF-250. If your problem is the same as mine, you
might get it to work. It's tricky and not repeatable. But if I hold the remote within about 3 ft or so of the MRF-250, I can get it to send IR signals through the front blaster to the Sony receiver.
Look at the MRF-250 when you send commands to it. Good commands make the LED flash with a multiple bursts of light, kinda like Morse code. Bad commands make it emit a single (but slightly longer) burst of light.
