I quoted your five words, not because they were anything
to do with the discussion, not because they were in the
context of the argument, but because they were words which
I considered "surly" and "hostile", completely in their
own right, no matter what their context - like the word
you regret, in #74.

I'm glad it took me a bit to respond to this post...(you added the #74 in your edit).

I keep being told how easy these remotes are to set up and use. Someone (tired of tracking down quotes) said that a 10yr old or a Grandparent could operate one of these things. Well here's a guy...someone I referred to as a poor soul, who can get his head wrapped around programming of his Harmony. If it's so simple then this guy must be a ...........(add any phrase you like). See why context matters? I wasn't insulting the guy. I was trying to make you realise that just because it's easy for a handful of you doesn't mean it's easy for everyone.

The flip side is the "crap" reference.... That in the context I wrote it can be very easily misunderstood...and again I apologise.

By "surrendering the argument" I meant that, quite frankly,
you were no longer worth arguing (or to use a kinder word,
discussing) with (to use Joe_CI's expression), and therefore
I was out of it - not that I'd changed my position. The
five words were meant as an afterthought to that, a final
shot.

I knew exactly what you meant...I was trying to prove a point,.
....Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
