Hi, Troy. Not sure whether you have posted anywhere else on your findings (I couldn't find anything through a search), but were you able to clarify this issue as a result of your tests?

I must say, it would be a major bummer if I did not have most controls for Zone 2 where Zone 1 is off. I run my Zone 2 to speakers in a separate living room, to run CD / tuner / iPod, and often would find that I want to operate Zone 2 without having Zone 1 on as well.

A related question - is it possible to have the tuner operating for both Zone 1 and Zone 2, but to have different stations or presets running for each? Or put another way - are the presets operated specifically for each zone, or instead if you are running the same tuner source for each zone, then you can only have the same station?
