FYI: We have been able to get a reliable video sync from
the blue output of the component video on Motorola 6412
HD DVRs.
This is totally confusing as green has sync and luma (black to white level) in a component signal. Blue and Red are subtractive combinations of their own color and green.
It works in Minnesota our home State ( Comcast).
However it did not work in Tuscon Arizona recently on
the same box. Worth a try though. We use alot of Niles
Intellicontrols and this resolves some serious issues
we were having with sync.
I'm interested to know what these issues were and how they affected what you were doing. Without that, this post just sorta seems like it's out of left field and relates to nothing. If I have some sync issues, I won't have a clue if they relate to yours unless you explain a bit. Please do.
It is interesting that the Green and red do not provide
sync? They are always on it seems.
Yeah, true, especially since

Weird
Understatement.
Hope this helps
Give us a context and it could.
