Well, I've tried it a number of times, including getting the CD player to work properly afterwards. Still no dice on the power.

But like I said, the original controller had to see a power off twice in a row...hmm...I tried setting up to "power off" and hitting it twice, and that didn't turn it off. I also tried this with the RCA VCR code, since I have an RCA VCR and can see the result. It does turn off the VCR, but hitting it twice does not turn off the power on the receiver. Would it possibly be a code like "system shutdown" instead of "power off"? I know this seems daffy, but since the receiver never had a discrete on/off, only on/off connected to other components through the original remote, I'm wondering if it's a different code.
