If you're at the cable office and you want to know if
the remote will control your olevia, if it accepts code
11610 with two blinks, it will.

That's the problem I'm running into... The remotes they have are the old 4 digit ones.

If I were you I woul gat one-for-all(OFA) universal remote
like the urc8910, 9910, 9960, or 9964. call and have TV
code 1610 loaded over the phone.

Is this something I'll have to buy? I'll be doing a google as soon as I'm done here...

New UEI/OFA made oem remotes for Cable & Directv use 5
digit setu codes, first digit is a prefix for what kind
of device. tv's start 1****, dvd/vcr 2**** and so on.
Older universal & oem remotes from UEI/OFA use 4 digit
setup codes.

What's UEI? I have considered trying to find out who manufactures the remote, and obtain one from them somehow. Is that the maker?

Boy... It's funny how I can concider myself pretty savvy regarding tech stuff, and after a little digging realizing how little I know!

:Edit: Holy cow... $19.99 from radio shack for a 8 in one device? I may just give up on my comcast remote... Thanks for the heads up!
