Hi! just bought an Insignia 20" tv/dvd combo at Best Buy,
Model NS 20CLTV tried to program the remote with DIRECTV
remote RC23 but nothing seems to work, tried the different
codes, with different brands (admiral. orion, emerson,
sylvania, zenith etc...), tried the 9911 thing... nothing
seems to work! Please help me... Thanks! Best Buy must
inform the consumers that Insignia tv's doesn't work with
DIRECTVs...
Most tv/dvd combo use the codeset of the dvd portion of the combo, so searching tv codes fails. Try a codesearch for dvd codes on either AV1 or AV2 device slots, but don't search for power, but for vol instead. Like so:
1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-1, wait for two blinks
4. enter 2
5. tap VOL UP and release
6. now point the remote at the tv which should be on
7. keep pressing and releasing the CH UP key, if and when the vol changes
8. press SELECT to lock in code
To punch through the vol commands to all devices
1. av1 or av2 whichever has the combo code
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9-9-3
4. press SELECT
