That underbrush vegetation, fallen trees etc decomposing is good for the soil and the forrests as a whole. Fire is good for the soil and the forrests as a whole. If there are pine cones that only open up at high temp they evolved that way for a reason.

Living in Oregon pretty much my whole life I can tell you fire season is beginning to look much more like fire seasons of California of the 80's. Could be an anomaly of the last decade or so. Could be the new normal.

Snow packs are way less then the 80s, summer dry season begins earlier and last longer. And Oregon has a shit load of fuel just waiting for a spark.

Even if you were to "rake the forrests" how does that even work? Is there a budget for that somewhere? A tax structure to support it?
