I understand the differences just fine, my degree was in laser engineering. I'm not an idiot with technology. Plus our company does over 200 projector installations a year an I am the one that calibrates most of them. I am saying that from a pure picture quality point of view I would rather have the better picture qualities of the other projectors over the Sony's resolution advantage at anywhere remotely close to the same price point.

For a 133" diagonal screen, you've got to sit closer than 8' to recognize the difference in 4k resolution.
I've installed both Sony and JVC (haven't done a side by side) but I have read numerous reviews comparing them side by side supporting your opinion.
My clients aren't looking at pixels or test patterns so it really is just a matter of putting up the best image possible for their budget and requirements.
I'm more excited for HDR and more UHD material than the actual 4k resolution anyway.
