when that thread came up a few weeks ago asking about samsungs and 5.1 optical output it brought to light that this is bullshit. they must be using a "virtual" surround sound program if it doesn't get it Dolby.
You could go directly from the cable box or blu-ray but that would make it so you would only have one source attached to the sound bar. This is becoming evident that this is only a secondary room unless we use a solution like this
