IMO, A distributor selling Prontos out the back door at dirt-cheap prices has basically caused the issue that Custom Installers cannot justify the MSRP for the remote and the services they are supposed to be providing. This, I think, was only one of the reasons for the crackdown as I'm sure there were others.
That is the reason the company I program for in OZ changed to another brand. People in OZ can buy these remotes online way cheaper than their cost prize. I don't blame Aussies for purchasing from the US at all. Lets face it they are way to expensive here in OZ (I know why) but that is for a different debate.
