eliminate non-dealers.....

Then the dealers should not sell Prontos' to the guy in the street. I did not buy my Pronto from an authorized dealer, so where did they get it? Have I broken the law? More to the point, can I get my money back for this Pronto that I should not have?

Many so-called "dealers" have lost their right to carry the remotes in the last couple of months as part of this crack-down.

So, these Ebay deals such as "this is the last of these we will receive" are likely from those people who used to be dealers.

IMO, A distributor selling Prontos out the back door at dirt-cheap prices has basically caused the issue that Custom Installers cannot justify the MSRP for the remote and the services they are supposed to be providing. This, I think, was only one of the reasons for the crackdown as I'm sure there were others.
