Perhaps, but the consequences for Philips could be worse than they were for URC. End users upset with Philips also won't buy other Philips products, such as TVs, Blu-ray players, telephones, and even Norelco electric shavers. The Pronto Team may or may not care, but the Philips corporation overall has more to lose than it has to gain by cutting off DIY-ers.
