The ProntoNEO TSU500 is a lower-cost addition to the Pronto Family. But with a graphical LCD touchscreen, full code learning, macros on any button and complete PC editing software with custom bitmaps, the ProntoNEO itself is no lightweight.

| Review: | We were very disappointed with the abilities of the ProntoNeo and the NeoEdit software. I purchased the remote specifically for the macro programming ability. We have a large home theater system, and the remotes were getting a bit out of control. What we specifically wanted was a remote that would allow us to use specific discrete IR codes - such as specifiying the selection of Input 3. Our old remote made you scroll throuhg input selection, unable to specify the input directly. In order to create the macros we want (such as Play DVD), we need to specify the inputs directly. The discrete IR codes are posted on remote central, but we were unable to enter them into the the NeoEdit software. This is something that is supported by the ProntoEdit package, but not in the lower end model. Also, the NeoEdit software is plain terrible. There are no context menus, and it is overly simple, making it extremely difficult to work with. Add in the inability to upload from the remote, and you have a fairly useless product. We returned the ProntoNeo and ordered a Pronto TS2000 instead. |
