A new Kickstarter has been launched for a family-friendly remote control designed for use on practically any mobile device. Itís called Newmote
, and promises simple integration of IR, TCP/IP and RS232-controlled devices using a basic PC as the primary system controller.
Hereís the pitch:
Newmote is the first Universal Remote Control application designed for people ages 3 to 90+, including those with visual impairments.
To support this, Newmote can:
- Display only the buttons you need.
- Let you choose your preferred colors for buttons and background screens.
Display big buttons on mobile devices (and even bigger buttons on tablet devices).
Newmote is one of the few applications running natively on iOS/Android/Windows mobile devices, and on all mobile devices with a full HTML5 web browser (no difference with the native version).
Thus, you will not have to wait for a native version of Newmote for your mobile device to use it. Newmote has already been developed, and is in the publishing phase now, with deadline for September 2015. There are special discounts for backers.
