thanks otah, except my office has websense, meaning i am limited to what sites i can get onto from work.... can you cut and paste?

if not no worries, i can check it out later from home.

Yeah, the iconRemote doesn't do JP1, but it is a learning remote. It can learn any function of your other remotes.

I would avoid any remote that is not PC programmable unless you have another remote you can use to teach discretes to it.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I went and bought one of the iconRemotes a little while ago. It showed up just recently, and so far, works perfectly. I remember seeing the name appear on several internet message boards, but I hadn't heard of X10, so I did have some reservations about buying their remote. But the price was right, and their annoying marketing tactics notwithstanding, X10 knows how to make one helluva remote. As I said before, mine has performed flawlessly since I've had it. If you're still interested, check it out. It's a good product.

OTAHD - Couldn't I just use the remote codes from my existing remotes? i.e. Take my DVD player and learn whatever function I wanted into my iconRemote.

Right, but there's no discretes on the original remote. Unless you can use a OFA to teach them.
