I have a MX_500 that I have been using for years. It controls my cable box, and I also have it set up to work my x10 lights.
The problem is that I recently purchased the Samsung UN55B8000. I love the set, but it comes with a RF non programmable remote. I tried the Samsung codes in the MX manual to no avail.
Now I am stuck using two remotes. I am looking for a way to get the Samsung to work with my MX-500 or guidance in purchasing a new remote that can handle the TV.
Thanks for you help,
Dean

If the tv isn't able to accept both IR & RF remnotes at the same time, yes you're stuck using two remote for ever. Because its not the mx-500 lack of RF that will keep you using two remotes, its the propriety RF frequency used by the samsung that no universal remote rf or ir will never be able to control.

According to this thread, the remote is RF only, but the TV does accept standard Samsung IR signals. Perhaps the MX-500 is too old to have a built in setup code. You could probably learn the needed signals from a cheap universal.
