Alright guys, need to be pointed in the right direction

The setup I have is:

Room 1
Panasonic Plasma
Directv HD
DVD player to be added
Hot Links IR repeater

Room 2
Panasonic Plasma
Onkyo 905
Directv HD/DVR
Popcorn Hour C200 media tank
Oppo DVD
Playstation 3 coming at Christmas
Xbox 360
Hot Links repeater

Also have a sonos system on order (has its own remote)
I also have iphones and Ipad

Ideal setup would be 1 master remote to control everything based on rooms, and a secondary remote to keep in room 1 for that system only. Whatever I get has to EASY to operate for Wife & 2 young kids.
I would prefer self install/programming....I'm fairly tech savvy. I've setup all the above equipment plus WHS & wiring ethernet through the house, etc. With enough time I think I can program it.
Price, not really a concern. I dont mind paying for good equipment that works and works easily.

Thanks

Ok... 88 views and no response/ideas.
I decide to give the ThinkFlood RedEye system paired with an IR extender a try in both rooms.

Ya... Nothing simple in my life. I have also discovered the Redeye system is on backorder till???, maybe end of November. Looks like the Harmony 890 pro is capable of multiple room setups, but that's a 3 yr old remote that's out of production.
May justend up with a two remote system....

You could or should use your IPad/IPhone. There are apps now that intergrate and use several features from different apps. So its a lot more simpler and quicker to use.

To do this all your equipment need be either IR of WIFI enabled. I think it's called smartapp or a long those lines.

Because your in direct line to your equipment in the room if you wanted to go down the IR remote I'd take a look at the Harmony One. Most AV installers I've spoke to use them.

Really? You would use a Harmony One for a multi-zone system? And most installers you have spoken with use Harmony? Yorkshire as in England?
