I own a logitech 880 and a MX700 (many years ago) but had trouble with settings on both. Logitech support was great but ultimately got tired of so many calls as we tried to accomplish settings that should have been simple. I haven't used these in years but now have a coffee tables worth of remotes. I have to do something.
A buddy just picked up a Pronto 9600. He loves it but the programming of this remote worries me. I'm not scared of programming and actually like it IF IT ULTIMATELY WORKS. My system might be a tough one to program for a rookie. Here it is;
Pass Labs X350.5 amp. No remote on this dude
CarySLP-05 pre amp. an 8K dollar pre with the worst (cheapest) remote ever. Just need volume up and down
Transporter Slim Devices
Oppo BDP83SE
Comcast (I guess) Sat Tuner
Onkyo PR-SC885P prepro
Epson UB something projector
PS Audio Power plant Premier
Maybe it's not so tough?
I thought a touch screen would be nice and was looking at the MX3000 and the Logitech 1100.
any suggestions and thanks for your help

Well I'm not familiar with all of the gear you have listed, as far as programming goes, but I would recommend a RTI T2C/ZRP-6/ZM-24 combo. The best part is you wouldn't have to worry about the programming, as RTI is dealer only programming. I can tell you you could do the Epson RS-232, as I have done one or two before and it works very well. Not familiar with the Onkyo piece, but you could probably also do that via RS-232, and might be able to get 2 way feedback for such things as volume and radio station. You can also do the Oppo via RS-232 if it has a RS-232 port, which I think the SE ships with. If the cable box is like any of the ones I deal with, you could voltage sense that in order to make sure it always comes on. You could also trigger the amp on/off via the ZRP-6 if it has a 12v trigger option. Hopes this helps.

Wow, I didn't know Comcast made sat boxes.
Anyways, I would recomend buying your remote from a local dealer who is willing to give you the software and do the initial programming for you. Otherwise, stick with the consumer models with their limitations, just don't expect to get the same kind of cotrol as a pro model would give you.
