Looking for a RF/bluetooth remote for a PC that's small enough to fit in my pocket. I need at least 6 buttons that I can customize to make global hotkeys, which will be used with several applications, including a handful of media players and a text-to-speech program. I'll have on wireless headphones, and will sometimes be using this remote in other rooms than the one that the PC is in.

Ideally, the remote would have software (Windows XP/Vista/7) that would let me assign a custom hotkey to each button. It doesn't have to do fancy macros and such, or be able to recognize what application has the focus... I can use Autohotkey and program all of that myself.

I've looked at several 'presentation' devices, but all of them seem geared toward working with Powerpoint (and a few with basic media controls), but I can't find one that has customizable buttons. And the majority of them seem cheaply made and not very reliable to begin with.

You know that Blutooth only has about a 30' range? Using a BT remote from room to room won't work unless the rooms are right next to each other.
"You can't fix stupid."

If ALL of those buttons were programmable instead of just the bottom 4, it would probably work. (Note: I haven't checked out the software to see what functions/keys the buttons can be reprogrammed for.)

Ok, so RF then? :)

There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

This might actually work:

No programmable keys so far as I can tell, but looks like it might do enough on its own.
