lol... you haven't read enough of my posts apparently.

If you want disrespectful. How about your beating to death this board and others to just come back to what was suggested to you in the first place... the MX 980.

...and I only seem antagonistic to those with a low self esteem. I never start fights, but rest assured I can finish them both online and face two face.

I'm just hoping you'll eventually take some of the great advice you've been given numerous times, so the resources of this board can focus on something else.

Please don't suggest that I have low self-esteem; did you not start this?
I asked you to stop being rude because you were...

I've no doubt you're often helpful, but you've also demonstrated that you're what we call in Queensland a "shit stirrer": One who makes antagonistic comments just for the sake of it.*

And no I'm not going to cite examples, it's on the public record for people to decide for themselves.

I am very appreciative of the advice I've been offered from 'others'.
The questions are over & I'll be putting what I've learned in forums like this and elsewhere to use.

Matter over as far as I'm concerned; msg me if you want to continue the agro talk.

*There's other formal definitions for this colloquialism...
Mine is used in the context described, but doesn't seem to be formally recognised.

You're priceless... I quoted a suggestion made by anyhome and stated that we had come back full circle. Then made a comment about how long your process has taken. Just to get you back to what was suggest in the first place. I was far from being rude. Unless you believe pointing out the truth is rude.

I've no doubt you're often helpful, but you've also demonstrated that you're what we call in Queensland a "shit stirrer": One who makes antagonistic comments just for the sake of it.*

Again, I wasn't being antagonistic. You were/are being over sensitive. Don't label me because of your emotional reaction.

And no I'm not going to cite examples, it's on the public record for people to decide for themselves.

You'll never find one of me doing what you claim. Sure, I react to what others start, but I have never, not once, just opened fire on someone just because the mood hit me.

I am very appreciative of the advice I've been offered from 'others'.

Excellent... I hope you make the best choice you can. Hopefully those who somehow managed to stay the course with you have put you on the right path.

Matter over as far as I'm concerned; msg me if you want to continue the agro talk.

I perfer to save RCmail for either constructive conversation, or for people I feel to have a more personal rapport with. If you decide to go the route of diy-ing the programming the MX-980. Feel free to PM me if you need some assistance and I'll see if I can help.

The bizarre thing is it never came "full circle" as you say...
It was a gradual process which culminated in anyhomes suggestion of the 980 on the 23rd, long after the thread was originally started.

I was still interested in hearing thoughts from Pronto/Nevo users so the discussion continued for 9-days beyond that (with big gaps of course) whereupon it concluded.

Then 1-day later you chimed in with your comment...
So I'm still confused with the whole basis of your irritation.

And even if it did come full circle, so what, maybe there was still too many unknowns?
Just because someone says "use this" doesn't mean someone's going to say "okay".
There's nothing wrong with questioning or trying to understand the basis of a suggestion.

Thanks for you offer of help but I think I'll give it a miss.
I grow weary, all the best.

LOL only just noticed this one, it was actually before SH's comment.
Perhaps I would have read his a little more lightly if I'd seen this!?

Apologies, Oz = short-form for Australia!

There's nothing wrong with questioning or trying to understand the basis of a suggestion.

Good point... ...and to be honest if you made a quick decision and ended up being dissatisfied. I'd more than likely tell you, you should have inquired more before your purchase. Maybe it's the fact you broke the statis quo of this forum by doing the adequate research, which made your quest seem usually long to me...lol.

Thanks for you offer of help but I think I'll give it a miss.

No need for a harmless missunderstanding to shorten your available resources. The offer is there regardless.

If the end result was the MX-980, I can tell you with all certainty you'll love it. If you will accept a little advice, let me say that I found that programming the 980 can become a hobby, if you let your imagination run wild. I'm a tweaker by nature and after a short while realised that my remote sat beside the computer being "tweaked" more than it was in use. My suggestion to you is to come up with a concept of your interface and functionality before you start programming. Stick to those goals, and get the damn thing into daily use..., at least intially.

Have Fun...!

Well there's still no guarantee I'll be happy but I'll never know until I start! ;-)

Thanks again, I'm glad it just comes down to a misunderstanding...
I don't anticipate getting bogged but I'll keep your generous offer in mind if I do.
Thanks also for the general advice, makes good common sense.

Cheers all

I appreciate the attempt to help but,
Unless that falls into my price category what's the point of suggesting it?

Also the title's out of date....
My limit's more like $450 now (+post), most interested in 2nd-hand items.

Really?
Haven't seen anything close to that so far.

Fair enough,
Thank-you very much for the suggestion!

But you don't get software with RTI's?
At least it's against dealers TOA to provide it.

So even if you could get 2nd hand...
You'd have to pay someone to program it right?

see earlier in this thread...
