Just this one problem..

Anyone have these to save a fellow installer dude?

Using MX-980's thru-out the house with the V883 Matrix and Electronic Volume Controls -

Need to get rid of the direct ir to the S86 to keep the installation clean.

Many thanks

Hi there, Im messing with a Elan z880 at the moment and MX-980 remotes. I now this is not what you asked for but why not install a URC MSC400 controller and a control the z883 using RS232? You'll need a MSC400 starter kit also. It has the serial cable you need.

Just an idea!

Steve check your email, I sent you part of a project that I did. I hope this helps getting you started.

Finita, I think he is using a MSC-400 and controlling both the 8.6 and v883 through rs-232. You are looking for commands for the z880, a different piece. I just looked at the manual it explains it pretty well. you first put the Carriage Return, then the unit ID, then the zone number, then the source number. Also check the dip switch settings and read that page of the manual.
