Anyone have this problem of using an RF remote or infrared transmitter and then the same signal continues to be retransmitted by the repeater? I just bought my second HCA02 and it does the same thing. It happens with the TM751 and the PAT01. It even occurs with just the CM15a. Over the years I reduced the RF transmitters because of this problem. Should I use a passive repeater? By the way, to stop the signal from transmitting, I have to unplug the receiver (PAT01) or the CM15a. Which plug I use helps reduce, but not eliminate when this occurs. Anyone have this problem? I keep a meter plugged in constantly to detect if this is happening. I have burned out two 751 with this problem, then I removed the motion sensors. I am trying one more time with the CM15a, since it gives better diagnostics. Maybe this Leviton repeater is a lousy one. Is there a better one? Even with the repeater, my signals are low. Anyway, I would like to know if anyone had this problem and how they fixed out. Also, which is the best repeater to use? It should be smart enough to not continue to retransmit. Al

The TM751 has a history of getting stuck on constant signal transmission when too many dim signals are set to it via RF; the PAT01 has much less of a problem.

The Leviton repeater is our biggest booster for the ACT repeater sales; the Leviton has a history of problems, just search this site or some of the user groups on the net. We rarely have any problems with ACT units other than a rare outright failure. I am not a fan of passive couplers they help the non signal originating phase signal level, at the expense of the originating phase.

Thanks Bill. Just ordered the ACT repeater from you. Now if it doesn't fix my problem...

Can you fix my other problem? I have two electrical panels, right next to each other. How do I get the second panel connected? The two panels come from the same meter, so I don't know why the signal isn't there already.

Al,

Please let the forum know how the CR234 performs. If you are like most customers you will be very pleased, there just is not anything better.

As for which panel: pick the closest one to the meter. Since they are both fed from the same lugs on the meter the signal will propagate throughout all of your power lines. Do not leave any other couplers in place, as this will cause problems.

Thanks for your order.

Bill,
The ACT repeater is a true marvel. I can't believe I have put up with all of the Leviton problems over all of these years. That is the good news. I also bought your wall switches that program using a transmitter to "teach" it. I found that the instructions did not tell you enough and these switches would NOT program until I turned the repeater off. It took me half an hour to teach it the all units off command. Instructions never said you have to teach it the unit number first, immediately followed by the all off command. Anyway, other than weak instructions, these devices are fantastic. I think I'll order some RD134s from you next. Thanks.

Al,

Thanks for the response; your experience is very typical of anyone who has bought this unit, that’s the reason we love to sell them. I also price them so it's not a big step up, because I know a happy X10 user buys more X10, which is a good thing for X10 retailers like myself. Sorry you had the problems with the learning, but once over the learning hump, I think you will find the switches to be fine products also.
