Anyone know how I could control a Hunter Fan/light combo that uses a Hunter RF remote? In other words, there is a single switch connected to the fan/light. The only way to control the fan/light is using the Hunter supplied RF remote which has light on/off and fan speeds. Any ideas??

What's the RF frequency?

If it's not on the remote, it should be here...

Are you hoping to replace the remote with X-10 control?

Actually I have two fans-the one is a Hampton Bay that is Fcc ID: FCC ID: CHQ8BT7030T Freq: 304.000MHz (using the chart you attached).

The other is a Hunter Fan Fcc Id: FCC ID: IN2TX02 Freq: 310.000MHz .

Yes, I am looking to use a MX-500 remote to control the fans using a X10 switch or some other mechanism. I realize the MX-500 is not RF capable so I may need to go to a MX-600 w/RF. Is this possible? Any other suggestions?

What RF frequency does the MX-600 use? Do you mean the MX-800? It uses 418MHz.

How do you enter new codes into either the MX-500 or MX-600?

CodeGen™ has CCF codes for some Hampton Bay and some Hunter fans.

I suggest buying a used or refurb Pronto, adding a 310MHz RF transmitter, and using it to control the Hunter fan and any X-10 RF you may have.

You can build a 310MHz-to-303.875MHz RF2RF converter which will let you control the Hampton Bay fan using the Pronto 310MHz transmitter.

If you insist on the MX-?00 with 418MHz RF, you'll need two RF2RF converters, assuming you can convert the CCF codes into MX codes.

Thanks for the reply and info. THeo nly way to enter new codes in the MX-500 is to use the learn function from another remote.

Thanks for the suggestions on the Pronto remotes.

Actually, IRClone turns a PC into a teaching "remote" so there is a way to get the CCF codes into it.

But, the MX-500 would need an IR2RF converter for your fans and you would need a way to transport IR to another room.

The MX-800 & RF2RF converters would probably work but I know the Pronto method works.
