Hello,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good software that would allow you to control x10 and other devices (ie home entertainment system, etc) via a wireless pda over a home/office wireless network? I have a dell axim x3i that i am hoping to make work for this.
I'm new to the whole x10 thing and my knowledge is still a bit limited but I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.
Thanks for any possible help.

Homeseer or any of the softwares that support a web interface should do the trick... you might have to work at it a bit to get it setup for your screen, but it should do it. I haven't made the jump to Homeseer (or equivalent) but there is a ton of capabilities that you will be able to tap into.

After it is setup, you'll just use a bookmark on your browser. If you are slightly more adventurous, you can use your permanent internet connection to gain access from anywhere and depending on the exact modules that you use throughout your home - you could check to see if the front porch light is on - or even cooler you could change the thermostat. Water sprinklers, garage doors, the sky is the limit... keep in mind that you'll need an available 802.11 network nearby that you can get internet access to pull this all off (of course it'll work in the home as internet does now for your PDA)

X-10 Remote TCP Server 1.5 will do what you want without having to scroll screen and all that junk when using other web based software. There is a client for the PDA and one for any Windows workstation and a server application that must reside on the machine which has the X10 interface connected.

Towards the bottom of the page you will find a link to “X10 Remote Server”

Excerpt from the site:
This handy server utility allows you to control all your home automation devices (X-10 & X-10 Compatible) with a simple mouse-click. This X-10 Remote Server will sit on a computer that is connected to your X-10 CM-11a Computer Interface. You can turn any device on / off, dim / brighten lights, turn all lights on, all units off, change housecodes, change comports, etc. all from within this little application.

Now, imagine doing all of this remotely. Imagine using your Pocket PC as a remote control that sends and receives X-10 data wirelessly. Even better how about a Remote Desktop Client for your PC too. If you are running a home network, it's easy to control all X-10 modules from any computer attached to your network by using the PC Client.

Hi, thanks to both of you for your suggestions. If anyone else out there has any other software suggestions, I would like to get as many as possible to research them all and compare. I'll post a follow up with what I found. Thanks again.
