I have a light that is operated by 3 switches, otherwise know as a 4 way switch "Go figure".

Anyway, I have a 3 way switch, and 2 slave switches. Does anyone know how I do this. I hooked it up with no success. I am able to get the middle switch and one of the end switchs working, but not the other end. 2 switches work, and 1 does not. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Eliminate the 4-way switch. That's the one with 4 terminals or wires coming from it.

Otherwise you will have to get a 4-way x-10 switch. Leviton probably makes them but am not sure. Probably expensive also...

Larry knows his stuff. He recently helped me with my 4-way. I found the box with the 4 wires to be the most challenging. Connect 2 of the wires to the red on the slave and connect the remaining 2 wires to one of the blue wires on the slave. Cap off the remaining blue (slave) with a wire nut.

I don't know how it works, but it does!

Thanks for the info Larry. good to know.

Also, at some of the online stores you can find some good info such as at smarthomeUSA.com: [Link: smarthomeusa.com]

And the following link is for the Leviton Controls Guide which you can save as a PDF and print. Believe it or not, smarthome.com sells it for $8.00!:

Those diagrams are good from someone who knows how to read a schematic and can convert it to match the way their boxes are wired. I designed my schematics to show the wires available in each box and how they're used.

OH no!!!!

Smarthomeusa used the leviton wiring diagram. Who can follow those? I think Helen Keller drew them.
