Hello: Where can an indvidual buy new RTI products and get the programing program? Is it true that only installers have access? I'm thinking about upgradeing from my T2 which I have programed all along, if I had to pay someone to program it that would put an end to the whole idea of upgradeing.
Thanks, KDM

you have to be an installer to have access to the program. However I am sure there are some installers that would sell you a T2+ and then give you the software to use it. If you have an IRF-6 its worth upgrading no question. If not I still think its worth upgrading just not as much. As noted in another thread the new T2+ doesn't learn IR. you need a seperate piece of hardware for that. Of course with RTI installers mega database who needs it.

Thanks, Scott; I do use an IRF6, I imagine I'd have to replace both and since I use two T2's could be expensive. I wonder what RTI was thinking by not letting the software out to the public?

Doesn't learn IR. With every remote under the sun doing this, why do you suppose....?

That requires that pretty expensive (I know I can't mention the price, but it's high enough) accessory to be serious about doing this one for clients. Do I read this right?

Or are you saying their database does away with the need for the learning interface? I've not done a brand yet where I didn't have to learn in a couple of buttons...
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I have used the IR Pro a few times when I could not find the needed codes

the IR Pro works well and is easy to use: there are some powerful databases with most codes for the T2+ but not all

there are some alternate ways to get the job done if you cannot find a code for the T2+ and don't have the IR Pro:

-find the code you need in the Pronto or any database and cut/paste it as a hex code into the T2+ library

-use an older T2 to learn the code and add it to the library

-use RS232 commands with the adapter for that device

the T2+ is a major leap above the T2 and the investment was worthwhile for me
