Hi guys,

Does anyone know which TCP/UDP ports we require to access a XP8s remotely using Integration Designer?

So far we've opened Ports 80, 4110, 5053, 5056, 50001, but no luck.

When contacting support, they gave us 5053 and 5056, but even a local port scan does not get a reply from those ports.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be keen to hear them.

Did you setup port forwarding to the XP8 on the router?
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

That's exactly why we're asking which ports are required.

So far we've opened Ports 80, 4110, 5053, 5056, 50001, but no luck.

RTI tech support gave us ports 5053 and 5056, which does not appear to be correct.

Now we're sunning a port scan between port 1 and 65535. Maybe we'll have an answer on the open ports after a few days, but we don't really have the time to wait that long.

Check on the RTI forums (forums.rticorp.com) — there are several threads about this there.

If I recall you have to forward the ports on BOTH ends — that means from your router to your computer as well.

I never got that to work to the point where I could upload. I could see the remote XP8 but no dice.

I would go to a VPN or on-site PC if you need reliable remote access.

4110 - download the RTI Panel tech note on the dealer site which details how to do this.

ok you need to do 5053 TCP only and 5056 UDP only... what most dont realize is this must be done on the clients router to the xp8s but ALSO YOUR ROUTER TO YOUR PC SET TO A STATIC IP... why? couldnt tell you, but seen plenty of guys discuss and successfully do this over on the dealer forum and this was needed.

We have tried 5053 TCP only and 5056 UDP only to no avail. We forwarded these ports on both the local and remote routers. Local PC is set to a static IP and of course the XP-8 is set to a static IP as well.

Whenever we try to upload the program to the external IP where the XP8 is located it fails and says to trouble shoot the connection...

Any ideas?
