Jump to and invoke a button?

In my Pronto days I found it convenient to be able to jump to a specific button on a page. ID permits "linking" to a page but that only changes the display and doesn't "press" any button.

Is there any way to get a T2C to run a set of local (standalone) macro steps defined on a button? I know a system macro can be invoked from a standalone button, but that system macro can't (obviously) issue local/standalone IR commands.

The use case would be, for example, to define a button that uses local IR commands to control power (of, say, a tv, DVD and surround processor), select the video source for the TV and audio for the surround processor. Then to be able to invoke that series of commands from any other place in the remote's program. It would be nice if it were possible to do this without actually going to the page the button lives on.

Is there some other way to do what I'm thinking of?

Are you a DIY'er or a CI? Have you taken the training class at one of the disty's or online?

Just copy and paste the macro onto as many buttons as you want.

I am a DIYer, and have not taken a class. I have been doing all my programming for remotes (MX-500s, Prontos and RTI TC2/RP6), using IR, RF and RS-232 with multiple RP-6s. I am not aware of the online classes ... can a non-dealer sign up? A pointer would be welcome ...

I realize the question may have seemed simple, but there is reason to my "madness". Instead of "just coping and pasting the macro onto as many buttons as you want", it would be much more convenient to store a complex macro such as I described above ONCE, and be able to invoke it from anywhere. That way, as you debug it or change it with changing needs, it needs to be updated only in one place.

So, the question remains ... is it possible to "press" a button in a macro? So far, I've not found it ...

Thanks

In your macro you should be able to select a "command from another page".
This would be considered the same as pressing the button on that page.

Just out of curiosity, where did you buy your equipment and get the software?

The only way you can do what you described is by calling a professional installer who understands the capabilities and limitations of your product and letting them handle this.
