Have a client that is asking for a global volume control of our 2 zone denon system.

Is there a way in ID 7 to send the main zone and zone 2 volume commands together on one button? This way when they are entertaining he only has to press one volume button. I tried building a Macro, but that failed.

I appreciate any tips or ideas.

No because they will get out of sync. You can however make a page that has a Step volume scale graphic and they would touch the level on the graphic that they want to volume to go to, each step can contain as many individual serial volume go to commands as you want.

I have done this several times and the customer is usually quite happy with the result

This will repeat the individual commands but not sustain so the ramp will be slow: create macro, drag "repeat steps" command into the workspace, put your 2 volume commands into the "repeat steps" command. Make sure "Until button is released" is selected.
Hey, thats a nice plasma, you can put that in the back of my truck...

This can work pretty well with serial but not IR so much. On the Yamahas we use, they can process volume +/- faster than is comfortable for a volume ramp, so
Z1 vol+
wait 0.1
Z2 vol+
wait 0.1
Repeat above until button released
works pretty well when you need to "join" zones.
