I don't get why they even bother giving out the dates. Its not like they have even met one of them.

Will early buyers of the T3V be able to upgrade them come
fall when the T3V gains Zigby?

NO - spoke with a rep early this week. When it's available, you will have to specify what T3-V you want... ZigBee, or non-ZigBee. The non-ZigBee version will not be upgradeable.

Original Poster please take the pricing info out. All of us that need to know have the pricing.

And as for the timeline good luck. We all know that as much as we love RTI their timelines are a sick twisted joke.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Don't get me wrong Tom. I am huge supporter of RTI.

When it comes to RTI... If it ain't in my hand and tested
by me... it doesn't exist as far as I am concerned.

I understand 100%.

Some here spec things not released based on a release date. Whoever does that in my opinion is at least a half a bubble off plumb (only one oar in the water, only dealt a deck of 51, etc) and deserves all the misery that results.

HOWEVER (quoting Barney Fife), if you are ready to spec things that are just released, I still think there is some risk and you need to rethink your strategy. Why wouldn't you give a brand new to the market device some rigorous lab testing? (Maybe you did and these issues did not surface.)

I am more slow to bring brand new things into client homes than most. I let you guys test, let the dust settle, then I get into the starting gate.

It would be great if everything we unbox and install would be ready for prime time. Unfortunately we are in a highly competitive industry and we are dreaming if we think that we will not at times be the final (broad) wave of testers for new product.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

With experience I am jumping out of the gate slower and slower with every release. Not only RTI, but most everything. There is the bleeding edge and the leading edge of technology.
When good enough is not good enough.

Can't we just close this thread out until anything releases? If you want commentary on this, please refer to the posts made 0-18 months before the XP8 released...

Don't shoot the messenger. I had my personal bitch session with them in person a few months ago and they have at least agreed to provide some type of communcation as to where they are heading and what they are attempting to do. I am very disappointed with the rollout schedule and I only hope they can keep the dates.
