Make sure and spec plenty of these products in all your quotes, that way you are staying ahead of the competition. Don't listen to Patrick, RTI's ship dates are rock solid.

I was told that you would be able to send it in for a upgrade.

How about getting the kinks worked out on whats out.
Then making good on other promises of use and ability.
THEN NEW STUFF THAT WE CAN START ALL OVER WITH.

Easy, boys.

They make my life better. I bet they do for some of y'all, too.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Don't get me wrong Tom. I am huge supporter of RTI.

I am also very disappointed with the performance of a device I waited nearly 2 years for. So much so that I can't spec it for installs. Next I think that anything that is not AT A$%D SHOULD NOT BE IN THE PUBLIC AREA OF RTI'S WEBSITE. Customers ask about vapor ware because someone in sales told them to check out RTI's site.

Sales specs things that they see on the site expecting it to be out, and a guy has waited 6 months for his U2.

Who's fault was it? SALES!

Lets just say it doesn't help when RIT has things labeled as available 2008 and it is 2008. At one point they had things listed as available 2007 and it was 2008 without shipment.

But my main point is this. Give me something that I can hang my hat on. Then I will use a ton of them. (Ask Neopro)

I had heard that there was to be a firmware to fix my serial caching and delay. That killed several days of programming for us on a decent sized job.

I know other have not really minded the "slight delay" in sending commands. I noticed it on a small simple test system... it had one XP8 and one T3. There was a clear as day delay between when I pressed the button on the T3 and got a response from a cable box. Around .3 seconds to be specific.

I pointed this out to my cohorts and they gave me enough rope to hang myself. I took the XP8 to a job and built a system with 8 video zones and 11 audio zones. Raising the volume was the main issue. Sending a volume command took a moment to respond then it seemed to keep going after button release. Caching...

Worked with RTI on it and they said that they were "retinking how to spit commands". I said fine... and had to remap the system over 2 RP-6s. Which we have continued to do. Every week my boss wants to know if I have heard anything from RTI about fixing that delay.

The one thing about RTI that I never trust... (Sorry guys) product release dates.

When it comes to RTI... If it ain't in my hand and tested by me... it doesn't exist as far as I am concerned.

I will second that: most of us started with the T2 and the IRF-6: remember them?

Amen to that. Don't sell what's not on the shelves.
