Update: Still have not received my latest replacement T2-C. It's been over a month. RTI says they actually found a problem with the design and that they have extensively tested a new batch of remotes. One is promised for me next week.

Three solutions I have discovered.
#1---Turn off the T2c for 24 hours then turn it back on; I think it needs time to dissipate a static charge that is locking up its operating system.
#2--- firmly twist the chassis slightly, if this works then the small ribbon cable is loose and can be easily fixed by re-inserting it.
#3---- re- solder the battery jack on the main board, I have found that 70 percent of the problems stem from cracked solder at this point, I have also found cracked solder at the tilt sensor. Note I have been adding epoxy to the battery connector to prevent it from break again. The old T2 used to suffer from a similar problem.

Just curious, is it the same configuration file on all these remotes that is freezing up the unit ? I have found there were some corrupt IR codes that were attached to some of the buttons on a previous configuration that were freezing the unit up. No matter which T2-C I loaded I had the same problem.
My suggestion would be to try and rule this out by using a different config file or use a T2-C you know exhibits no problems and load your config on. Also, try and touch each and every button on your config file and see if anything specific causes it to lock up. If yhou can isolate the IR codes like I did a quick search and replace should help.
I have done quite a few T2Cs, in fact it's my number one seller, and had very little problems in that cateogry. Good luck.

We recently had the VP of RTI send up 2 advance replacement T2-C units after our first two T2-C's we installed locked up. He told us it was a RoHS issue and that the solder is now lead-free (or something to that effect). This makes sense with what I've read here about the cracked solder joints. He also says the problem has been fixed. So, we'll see

I have my own personal stash of solder with lead because it is so hard to get a good solder joint with the lead-free stuff. The tiniest motion while it hardens cracks the joint. The flaw might or might not be visible and might or might not work.
Isn't it wonderful that they've taken the lead out of all the solder joints everywhere? If I remember correctly, this was a European initiative...and they are also pushing electric cars...they will harm the electronics industry to get rid of an ounce in each car that has batteries with hundreds of pounds of lead. Idiots.

Why do you think the charger and remote are not making connection?
You are aware that the blue light only lights up when the remote has a 89% or less charge. The cradle is more then just a "dumb" charger.

Why do you think the charger and remote are not making connection? I don't like that one bit for a $900 remote. Explaining to the client that they have to mess with it to get the light to light... come on, RTI.

Finally received my latest T2-C replacement. The box has a new green sticker on it announcing it is RoHS compliant (no lead in the solder). I was told (for the first time) not to fiddle with the remote/base station connection. If the blue light does not come on, it means the remote does not need to be recharged. Playing with the connection to force the blue light on can actually trick the remote into being charged when it does not need to be. Some combination of this over charging and solder joint problems is thought to have locked up the touch screen on the earlier units. RTI again says no way that static electricity caused the problem. I do know for a fact that waiting 24 hours and trying the unit again did not work for me. Once the screen locked, it was permanent. Just to be sure, I have this unit's charging base in a non-carpeted area. Thanks again, to everyone who responded here. I love this remote and am keeping my fingers crossed.
