I just noticed for Southern CA, our training at the local distrib. for the XP8 is set for April. What date does everybody else see in other parts of the country?

I hope this doesn't mean the TT6.0 and XP8 is still a 3 months out.

Take the three months and be happy - better than TBD.

Already had it this week. The RS 232 data base isn't as big as I expected. I would take a wild guess and say the guys who do it a lot will get the data base moving quickly.

It really is going to be sweet.

Two weeks is what they said. For me, I would rather have it come out solid out of the box vs. having to return a bunch because they didn't have it right. With that being said I only have one sold and the project hasn't even started contruction yet.

I just hope that it we'll be able to convery RP1 or RP6's to XP8's in the software.
Who says you can't put 61" plasmas up on cantilever mounts using toggle bolts? <---Thanks Ernie ;)

Anything else to say about the functionality? Just curious...

Thank you-

I am in Vegas and as of last week they had none planed. You guys are lucky.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

There are six macro processors that can execute up to six simultanoues macros. Allows for seemless multi remote use. With about a .2 delay at the most.

8 sense inputs which can execute any macro/s upon voltage input. This will be very, very nice.

Time based events that can do if/then statments with the time of the day.

Examples
- opening garage door at 2:00 will not turn on the whole home lighting scene but will open after sunset
- checking to see if the garage door is closed every 15 mins and closing it if open only after 9:00 pm
-pretty much anything you can come up with

Remote log-in for changes as advertised (future)
A customer ip page for device control (future)

Relay's are internally wired with 12v if you want

When you upload the processor it will remember the status of flags so you don't have to reset cable power

The 8 two way ports come with 8 breakaway cables!

I probably could remember more if I hadn't been just out at the bar.

Had my training a few weeks ago. this is true but there is only one IR processor, so it can hold up to six macros at once but can only send one ir/rs232 code out at a time. even the AMX and crestron units have only one so I won't complain.

They didn't have a rs-232 library to show yet or a firm date so it sounds like they've made progress.

I'm just getting started (at a new company) with AMX and Crestron.

Assuming a fully developed (ie 2 way RS232) XP8 was available now.... could it do ANYTHING that a AMX or CRESTRON processor in similar price range can't do?

We also use RTI

Just wondering if there will ever be a good time to spec the XP8 instead of an AMX/Cres.

Short answer would be... after it actually comes out...

Just kidding.

Actually the best answer would be after it comes out and after they get the two-way up and going reliably. Until then the RTI product isn't even close to comparable.
