So here's the deal.

T4 in Bedroom 1 talking to a RP1

T4 in Bedroom 2 Talking to another RP1

DTV H20 Receivers in each bedroom

Same IR emitter placement on both H20's

Bedroom 1 H20 responds to all DTV commands correctly

Bedroom 2. All commands work, except Menu. I have used the Menu command from the same library that Bed 1 is using, and tried pretty much every other one in Megalist 14. IR is being sent out as the emitter flashes, so it's not a inactive button ir routing issue.

H20 responds to Meny from the OEM remote.

????

Any Ideas?

TIA

Does the menu function work on a soft button in the troubled room?? I had a issue where a channel + button would not work on the hard button, but worked fine on the soft button though. Swapped out remotes...

Hey Roddy,

I have the menu command on both the hard button, and soft on the same page. Same response.

The hard button does send out a command, as the emitter flashes.

I'm stumped!

It's a long shot, but try this...

Put a piece of electrical tape over the IR window (Black tape works, but white is better). Re-attach your emitter and try it. If the receiver is behind closed doors, you can put tape over the outside too!

I've had several problems with the newer DirecTv receivers and emitters... this solved all of them. I've tried adjusting the output on an RP6 as well and it helped, but did not solve the problem completely.

Silly perhaps... but, is you button that contains the menu code in standalone?

No, Checked for standalone, and made sure it was talking to the correct RP1.

Put the "menu" command on the RP-1 as a system macro, instead of on the button itself, & use a non blink emitter for more gain, this should solve your problem.

If memory serves, when you mate an RP6 and a flash emitter, the emitter flashes even when there is no IR signal present. Something about the RP6 sends out it's own wake up code or something. It's VERY possible that the RP1 does the same thing.

Forget about the Flash Emitter, does the RP1 light up when you hit the button?

Let us know what you figure out... even if it's something stupid (which it probably is ;-).

Try putting the button in stand alone mode and see if it works pointing at it. I've always had to move the emitters off the the side so that only a small portion of the emitter is over the eye, something with Directv boxes being to sensitive.
