IR is being sent out as the emitter flashes, so it's not
a inactive button ir routing issue.
If memory serves, when you mate an RP6 and a flash emitter, the emitter flashes even when there is no IR signal present. Something about the RP6 sends out it's own wake up code or something. It's VERY possible that the RP1 does the same thing.
Forget about the Flash Emitter, does the RP1 light up when you hit the button?
Let us know what you figure out... even if it's something stupid (which it probably is ;-).
