I have a client going on his 4th T2C!!! Yep, thats right 4th... RTI tells me only first shipment was bad batch, and my distributor A**D tells me there havent been many returns. The first T2c was installed about a year ago, and it was the battery clip on the board loose or bad connection on the circuit board. Then the next 2 would just show no screen or power down. This guy is pissed, which i would be too!! But he also is the client from hell who lies just to get something for nothing. Ive been there a dozen times not charging him for half the time, now its going on again.

Anybody else in the rti family have had any bad T2C'S????????????? I really cant believe that there has been really 4 bad ones in a row...

Occasional issue with charging cradle making connection to remote. Had one that seemed to be having trouble sending trigger codes to RP1.

No other issues and have done around 35 in the last six months.

I've had the same issues as well with 3 out of 8.

Our first T2c was bad as well, all since are fine. I am playing with one now. I have had a bunch of T3's gone bad which is becoming a pisser. I think I just sent back 5 or 6 of them in the last couple weeks...

First one...
Left button below the screen didn't work. Just dead.
Replacement had 2 * instead of a * and a 0.

Next 30 had no issues.

Have had ones eaten by dog... not RTI's fault for making it taste like a chew toy.

Had a program that wouldn't issue commands in stand alone and am still working on that one.

Have noticed a connection between double pops on T2cs that does not exist on the T3 K3 or K4 in the same config file... but they are working with me on that...

The mating of the charger is one of those things that once I remove the back pannel it fits...

We have done about 50 T2-Cs and have had 6 die due to the lcd screen either just dieing or getting staticy. Also I have had 3 of the CM-232 cables go bad. I am getting frustrated.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

There is a wacky connector in the remote; if you give the chassis a firm twist (without breaking it) sometimes this will fix the problem for a few days.
as for the bad power connector, I have a T3 sitting here all in pieces that I am re soldering the connector on, I will follow this up with a spot of epoxy so it wont break again in the future. These issues remind me of the old T2, I was always fixing those darn things.

You should have asked "how many T2+'s are bad". I mean they just keep breaking or having crazy problems. Today's was that the T2+ commands in the LCD section whether macro's or single commands would not work. LED's on the RP-1 acted erratic.

Replaced the RP-1 with no luck, put it back in and programmed up a new T2+ and system works flawless again. This same guy has had almost every thing go wrong with the original T2 then now 2 different T2+'s since switching to the current model. At least the customer is nice and has cold beer on tap.

T2C has been ace - no failures.

T3 a significant number needing exchange or return to mfr.

They handle returns well so I'm grateful for that. Still a dandy remote!

Funny... so many different experiences.

I do mostly T3s (approximately 20+ in '07) along with a few T2C and T2+ models. The reports below reflect all RTI issues since '04.

1 T3 crashed during firmware update
...replaced.

1 T3 would blank out after two weeks of service
...replaced.

1 T3 currently having issues with retaining touchscreen calibration.
...checking on it this week.

1 T3 battery died after several years of use (my first T3).
...battery replaced.

1 T2C died after 1 year of service. Battery heated up and remote stopped working
...replaced without attempting battery replacement.

1 system using 3 RP1s had severely limited range. Tried swapping T3 and RP1s with little improvement after numerous RP1 placements.

No know issues with the handfull of T2+ models I have implemented.

This seems pretty good to me after dealing with several years of constantly dying Prontos.
