I just did my first T2C. I am just verifying that the rattling sound, like something is broken and floating around in the bottom of the remote, is in fact the tilt switch?
Also, am I correct that even with the volume level set to the max, that the volume level is not that loud? I have some voice commands for the sources and even with the volume on max it is still very low even in a relatively quiet room.
JUst want to make sure nothing is wrong.

The rattling is the ROHS compliant tilt switch. Most people just get used to it. Someone said RTI is trying to create a "quieter" version, but I don't have any verification of that. As far as the volume, I have don't ever use the remote's built in speaker, so I don't know how loud it actually gets.

No the natural volume is not that loud. I have been told that if you use a wav software program and raise the volume to almost distorting and resave it,it will be louder on the remote. However, I have never tried this.

Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question... |

I can understand a low volume for feedback blips or beeps if you want but what is the point to having the ability to use wav files if you really can't hear them.

Last training I went to with Mike E. he said they have a silent solution for the tilt sensing, and will implement it. The problem with the old switch is it used mercury which is bad for the environment or some crap. In any case, I am personally anticipating the silent switch will come with the "new" T2-c's (not the T2-cs mind you).

The "rattling" switch came out with the T2C....but eventually made its way into the T2+. If they have a quiet switch coming.... we'll see it across the board within a production run I'd guess.

Hi Mwcxiii, I've looked everywhere I know to look, but what exactly is the difference between the T2-C and the T2Cs? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Roger

Once the T2Cs comes out, the remote we know as the T2C will get a little bit of an upgrade in the form of 2 way RS232 communication for all of the goodies that come along with using the XP8 or MRP64. The T2Cs is going to come along to compliment the line and it's going to be a slightly smaller remote with a slightly smaller screen than the T2C. It will have the same buttons and same resolution, but not have the two way RS232 communication.
I believe the T2Cs will replace the T2+ completely when it comes out, and I think the retail price is going to be a few hundred less than the T2C.
At the last training I went to, Mike E. said we were going to be able to upgrade our current T2C's and T4s to be RS232 for a yet-undetermined price. When the new ones come out with the capability, the retail will stay the same.
