Here's my situation so far with my troubles:

Sony Wega 36" TV
------------------
IR learning worked fine. Works with the TV. GREAT!

Samsung VCR
---------------------
IR learning worked fine. Programmed in play, stop, FF, REW, and power. All work except the power.

Theta Digital Casanova preamp/processor
-------------------------------------------
IR learning worked fine. Flat out doesn't talk to the Theta. I've tried really close ranges (right on top of the Theta), and still doesn't work.

General Intruments XRC 100 Cable box remote (RCN of New England)
--------------------------------------------------
IR learning extremely tough, but seemed to get it eventually after weird angles. Also flat out does not work with cable box.

Any ideas what's going on? I still need try my CD and DVD player. I'm baffled. PLEASE HELP!

Brian:

Are you using RF at all or are you purely using IR only? The reason I asked is that when I switched to using RF only, everything defaults to RF unless you go in to each individual device and switch the output to IR for those device. If you're just purely using IR and it is learning the command with no errors, then something may be wrong with the remote. You may want to try finding Pronto hex codes and convert them to the T2 and see what happens. People on this board have been very helpful to me during my learning period and have gotten me out of several jams. Good luck.

Learning on the T2 is a bit finicky. Take a look in TheaterTouch Designer's IR waveform viewer at the troublesome codes -- even those that work now and again -- and make sure they're in Frequency rather than Pulse mode. Also make sure you followed instructions and re-calibrated the remote's learn mode between different brands of components.
