If you posted and asked, I'm sure that you could also get the info.

Or Audio God could have started an informational site.

But bumping 5 year old threads only annoys us. Think about what we'd go through if somebody bumped every thread on the site. Annoying to say the least.

And what annoyed me most about Audio God is that he could not take constructive criticism and lost his temper so easily.

I hate stepping into my shorts and having my big toe get caught on the way through. Talk about annoying.

You guys picking on Audio God are idiots. I signed up for an account just to bitch at you.

I found this thread by a google search for speaker sensitivty, in the first 10 results, even.

If Audio God hadn't posted, I may have used the confusing and incorrect info given before hand. I am sure there are thousands of lurkers who read your old threads from 2000 via google. Just because a thread is old doesn't mean you can't add more valuable info to it.

crash321, maybe you should read our other posts. We are not idiots, this site has many of the most knowledgeable people in the field.

Yes, it is good that Audio God knows this stuff. It is important information and I'm not saying that it isn't. But bumping old threads to post this isn't the way to tell people. He would have been better starting an informational site to it.

And you're being pretty hypocritical to sign up for only that reason.

Whoops...I was wrong! I forgot that automan1 and steveTO are part of this site, which makes us not all knowledgeable.

I come here often, and always on purpose for what is new, so it never occurred to me that google would direct people to that thread. I now see why someone might add a comment to a six-year old thread.

No, that's totally true. But we are used to using this site for the transfer of current information, and adding a comment to a very old post looks pointless because the person who asked the question originally has obviously moved on.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I might add, since it's at the top yet again, that the best way in any forum like this is to start a new thread and reference the old one with a link. Or even a quote.

I really don't know which is more confusing... Why people are defending this Audio God guy or why if this praticular post is so annoying, that members keep it alive.

All Audio God did was repeat what Danny Owens stated, and managed to cut and paste some info from a pioneer site. The post was already answered properly, and all he did was repeat it...?

At this time, this post isn't even about speaker sensitivity. Why do you people keep it alive???? Let it go...please. Like every other poor sap that has come across this thread, I will not get my 10 minutes back. I think we have all been punished enough.

If a speaker, (i.e, 3 or 4 way) has a sensitivity of 101db, 1w @ 1m, am I to assume that all of the drivers in the array are of this average efficiency, or does the box contribute to this . I have looked for speakers with high sensitivity ratings, and there are not that many to be found, several woofers, at best? How do these high end manufacturer's obtain these extremely efficient set-ups? It also seems that the passive crossovers found in most would also negate some level of sensitivty.
