I just upgraded from Time Warner's Moxi DVR to their Motorola DTC6416 DVR and have had nothing but trouble. First I have not been able to find a download for the codes for my MX700. Second I have tried having the MX700 learn the codes from the remote, but for some reason the MX will not control the DTC6416. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might do to resolve this problem?

On a side note, the DTC6416 is lacking in many features which are standard in other DVRs and Cable boxes I have used. Most distressing are the inability to skip forward in 30 second increments, this unit only allows fast forward feature. In addition the DTC does not allow you to delete channels from your channel guide as a result when looking at the guide you must see channels you do not subscribe to as well as foreign language channels etc. Does anyone know of a way to resolve either of these shortcomings?
Thanks,
Larry

The box does have some issues but most of what concerns you is in the firmware and programming that is a function of your provider.

I can see how the channel list might be a function of the provider, however the inability of the MX700 to operate the box would not seem to have anything to do with Time Warner Cable.

As for the skip foward button, it does not exist on the remote provided by Time Warner. With that in mind is there any way to obtain the codes on line?

Ummm...I'm not aware of an MX-750 remote.

If you're talking about one of URC's remotes, have you tried using a generic or similar codeset?

Also, I'm not sure if this will work with your model, but take a look at this thread and see if the 30 second skip code works.

I believe it is created for a Comcast box, so it may not work.

Also, take a look at Tips & Tricks to Learning IR Codes.

My error - I meant the UCR MX-700. The fix for the 30 second skip worked perfectly - thanks.
Any idea why I can't get the MX-700 to learn the codes from the other remote?

Some codes are not made active in certain markets. For example, the 30 second skip has been disabled in some markets and HD zoom (aspect) control is only available in a few markets.

Have you tried the codes for the Motorola DCT6412?
