Any ideas how to get rid of a buzz coming from my Kenwood VR 1080 receiver? Have not noticed it until a couple of weeks ago. It does go away by itself now and then but only for a short time. I can hear the buzz through the speakers when the volume is all the way down or when I have no input signal to the receiver. I also can hear it with the volume up and with a signal. Thank you in advance for any help on this annoying problem.

Hi Dave, can you describe your system, the connections and if you are connected to a cable system? Letme know and I may be able to help.

My system was getting a loud buzz for awhile right after AT&T bought out the local TCI folks and started upgrading to digital cable in my area and offering cable WWW access. The intermitent buzzing, mostly at times I myself wanted to get online, led me to believe it was some interference caused by sloppy cable/digital crossover. When my neighbor turned on his cable modem, I got a buzz. A loud complaint to AT&T from myself and several other neighbors got the problem fixed. I don't know what they did, but it took 3 men and a ladder. ;-)

As it turns out (found it on the Kenwood message board) the display on the receiver causes a buzz, if you turn down the display with the dimmer button on the receiver the buzz goes away. There is also a second buzz that comes in if you turn the receiver up past -28Db, that is related to the digital input jacks on the back of the receiver. If you jiggle the inputs the buzz goes away. The buzz some times returns though, just jiggle the inputs again to get rid of it.
