any one know about stacking a sat feed? i have only one wire coming to this location and im currently using a diplexor to carry the cable and the sat signal but want to split the sat signal to two other receivers for a total of three tvs in the cabnit. i got a 2150mhz spiltter that supposed to split the signal to two receivers but didnt seem to have enough power to give both good signal strength maybe i need some kind of amp any suggestions?

You CAN'T, why do you think the rest of us dual LNB's and multiswitches. Because we went to spend money!, no its the only why you can.

David,

Are you saying you want to watch the same station on all 3 sets? If so that can be done with a splitter after the IRD. Some guys use a modulator also. If you want to watch a different channel on all 3 sets then you would need 3 IRD's ,multiswitch and a dual lnb.

EDIT

I just reread your post and I see now where you say 2 receivers. A splitter will not work. They use something in large buildings and condos called a stacked or stackable lnb. It is very expensive and I believe you still need a multiswitch. It's possible the guy you were speaking to was talking about another system used in buildings from WSnet. That is a completely different system for MDU's and not compatible with DTV.

Sonora Industries in Simi Vally CA has the equipment you need to do this. It is not cheap.

Gary,
a google search usually is right on, but does not find any Sonora Industries at all. Do you have any further information on them?

Ernie
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

David, doing my best to figure out your system from the post, I take it you're injecting a cable signal to the feed from the LNB with a multiplexer, then splitting it back out at the cabinet to the sat receiver and a cable box? If this is correct, you probably only need a multiswitch to split the LNB feed, after the diplexor. If your system is configured differently, before the diplexor, then please post more info. There's no such thing as too much info, and in order to figure certain parts of the system out, sometimes we need info about the whole thing. If this turns out to be the case, a multiswitch (which is very different than a splitter), for 2 outputs is rather inexpensive.
