Are you saying you want to watch the same station on all 3 sets? If so that can be done with a splitter after the IRD. Some guys use a modulator also. If you want to watch a different channel on all 3 sets then you would need 3 IRD's ,multiswitch and a dual lnb.

I just reread your post and I see now where you say 2 receivers. A splitter will not work. They use something in large buildings and condos called a stacked or stackable lnb. It is very expensive and I believe you still need a multiswitch. It's possible the guy you were speaking to was talking about another system used in buildings from WSnet. That is a completely different system for MDU's and not compatible with DTV.
